Jew Town & Paradesi Synagogue

Antique shops, spice warehouses, and the 1568 synagogue. Easy to pair with Mattancherry Palace next door.

Synagogue is closed on Fridays and Saturdays. Carry a modest cover-up.

Mattancherry Palace

Dutch Palace with Kerala murals of the Ramayana. Compact, cool indoors, and a good break from the heat.

Combine with Jew Town; both sit on the same stretch.

Santa Cruz Basilica

White Indo-Gothic basilica near the waterfront. Quiet interiors, stained glass, and an easy photo stop.

A short walk from the fishing nets.

Backwater cruise

Houseboat or speedboat on Vembanad Lake. You are already on the water side of town for the reception.

Morning or late afternoon works best. Book a 2-3 hour cruise rather than a full-day boat.

Cherai Beach

The closest proper beach to Kochi. Calmer than the harbour edge, with toddy shops and seafood nearby.

About 45-60 minutes from Kumbalam. Better the day before or after, not on the 14th.

Hill Palace Museum

Former royal palace of Cochin, now a museum in wide gardens. Closest big palace outing to the city.

Closed on Mondays, so skip it on the wedding day itself.

Kathakali performance

Makeup demonstration plus a short performance. The easiest way to see Kerala's classical theatre.

Book Kerala Kathakali Centre or Greenix for the evening before the wedding.

Spice streets and seafood

Cardamom, pepper, and tea to take home; karimeen, prawn roast, and appam for the table.

Eat a proper lunch in Fort Kochi the day before. Keep wedding day meals light.

Lulu Mall

If someone needs a last-minute outfit, shoes, or a quiet AC afternoon, this is the reliable option.

Useful the day you land. Skip it unless you actually need it.
